I have to get serious and cut back on groceries...so we are eating out of the pantry. I just had to order a pc. of glass that is odd in size.....it was not cheap. It is so frustrating! To feel like I am making strides then BOOM.....I am not making strides.
Other ideas I have---
use up craft items in the basement-cheap entertainment.
Maybe have a fall garage sale. One that I get the proceeds. Really clean out.
No eating out for the rest of July-(like pizza) let the ex husband do that with the kids. Have him take them to the amusement park, movies etc...
Use free kids meals coupons before they expire.
No clothing items are to be purchased
Keep hitting the dollar store for needs and basic suplies.
Use the library more
Keep a/c turned down as much as possible!!
What things are you currently working on to make ends meet or save more money???
Use that Pantry up--

I do a complete budget workup a couple of days before the check comes in, write it all down and carry it with me. The most important thing I do when shopping/check cashing day comes is to pay myself first.
I can't stress this enough. What I do is to cash the check, then buy back anywhere from 2 to 4 rolls of quarters. I HATE spending change, even silver change, therefore I tend to hang on to rolls of change. Right now I have $50 in rolls of quarters, and it will be pretty easy for me to hang on to the rolls of coins. I also have a special jar for loose silver change, and another one for rolls of pennies as well as loose pennies. Confession: I am horrid about spending bills, even $1 bills.
I eat out about once or twice a month, and then only at low cost all you can eat buffets. Clothes are bought at either good garage sales, or at Dollar discount stores after the sales flyers come out.
It really all comes down to determination and self discipline. As I said, I can't save at all unless I pay myself first.

My challenge is definitely to live out of the pantry.

The pantry was dinner tonight---I have stocked up on so many deals.....well.....time to use them! I guess I am making strides......I just have to keep on doing what I am doing each and every day. I never want to end up on Oprah----in such a bind with money and strangled with such debt. I want to always be smart and wise and yet humbled to never take anything for granted. That inspires me to know that I have to be ever so careful because my child support and spousal support will not last forever.
I must live like no one else so I can live like no one else.....(my fav. DaveRamsey quote)
